Which anime are you currently watching?

I guess they just don't give a fuck about trying to sound convincing, like the Japanese. Although I've never heard the dubbed FLCL you speak of, I checked out a dubbed episode of Rurouni Kenshin once, and God, it was the worst thing ever. I had nightmares that night.

I decided to check out the dubbed FLCL. It's terrible. Why must VA's by law suck at dubbing a foreign language?

Eh heh, check out Disney's foreign language dubs. No matter what language, they somehow manage to find actors who sound exactly like their English counterparts. It's pretty scary, actually. On the same note, Japanese Kingdom Hearts is nowhere near as crappy as it ought to be either.

Generally, though, regardless of how good a dub is, I'd always prefer to watch something in its original language. Just as I'd never consider watching the Simpsons or Futurama dubbed into Japanese (except maybe for practice), it seems absurd to me to watch anime dubbed into English. Besides which, many anime dubs tend to er...suck. Lots.

Anyway, I just started watching Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. I like it so far, but I sort of had a feeling I would anyway. It practically radiates 'me' anime. Besides which...Arina Tanemura.

I'm watching Ouran High School Host Club. It's kinda fun.

EDIT: I watched a bit of Jeanne, and thought it was okay. I was a fan of Full Moon, thanks to the suggestions of you and a few other people at the exalted board, but this one just hasn't clicked yet. I'm certainly going to give it another try, because I've watched far too many anime that started out a bit flat only to get better as they go on, ending up as some of my favorite series' ever. I hope this is the case, because I indeed loved Full Moon so very much.

Yeah Ouran was fun. I loved FM too, haven't tried Jeanne at all though. Maybe I will at some point.




Right now I'm slightly lazy, so all I catch up on watching is Romeo x Juliet and Claymore which are both really good to me.

I'm probably further behind than you are with Jeanne, and I have no idea whether or not it ever reaches a Full Moon-esque level of brilliance and / or tenderness. But I'm liking it so far for what it is. Then again, I do have a tendency to gravitate towards shows of that sort... The list of anime that I've seen, contrasted with those which I haven't...um...does not reflect very favourably upon my taste.

EDIT: Oh, glad to know you're enjoying Ouran too. Zareen coerced me into watching it last year, and it ended up being one of the funniest, most enjoyable shows I've seen in a while.

Devil May Cry (episodes 1-2) and Star Ocean EX. I liked DMC. After the crazy action scenes of the games, it does feel a little different, but I wouldn't say it's bad.

Well if you go to youtube and type in Rockman ZX anime youll get a trailer, at the end it says it should start on 6th of July. Perhaps that no one has a raw yet. Im a fan of Zero/ZX aswell, beat Zer o1 to 4 within 3 days also beat ZX and waiting for the ZX advent game
