    Default ID3 Tag Mass-Viewer/Editor

So, I just got a MP3 player, and annoyingly enough, it doesn't seem to be possible to view MP3s by file directory, only by Artist, Album, Genre, and other such things that are all defined by ID3 tags. Unfortunately, that means I cannot procrastinate any longer - I need to finally finish cleaning up ID3 tags on MP3s that stretch back over almost a decade. Basically, does anyone know any good programs that'll let me view the ID3 tags of a large amount of MP3s and change them in a simple manner? Freeware, of course, is preferred, but shareware is fine. If the only stuff out there needs to be bought, I'll just stick with using WinAmp to do it a little bit at a time. Thanks.

Musicbrainz has a decent tagger application that uses their database. You install it, have the files analyzed, checked with their site, then a tab opens in FF or IE, and you finally chose which album is the right one for you. Takes a bit of time to figure it out and make sure it's done correctly, unless you like having an entire album screwed up. It's free, btw.

    I use the Picard one.

I also use MP3tag. Free and simple. You can edit songs individually, or in batch.

Thanks. I'll take a look at those.

Must spread rep around...such a nuisance.

Evans beat me to it, but I'd go with Musicbrainz.

It's nice, but if you wanna check to see if they're just tagged or need to edit one every now and then, MP3tag is faster.

MusicBrainz + foobar2000 is where it's at. MusicBrainz for the database thing, foobar2000 for further editing/renaming/moving.
