It's fake. So damn fake. I've been a subscriber to Super Play since 1994 when it was known as Super Power. I only miss the very first issue. There is no such issue as the rumor says!
The forum poster that spread the "news" just edited an IGN article about MGS2: Substance. And the top of the crop is that one of the editors at Super Play responded to him in the very thread that spread the rumor. Awesome.

I'm an editor at Super PLAY, and we have have not written anything remotely resembling this so called quote.

Seriously the rumor spreading that MGS4 is heading to 360 is so pathetic it gets hilarious. Every week new rumors of a MGS4 port shows up all over the net. And the funny part is that they are not based on anything that can be even remotely called proof. Two weeks ago the "confirmation" of a port could be read here and there after people successfully spinned the words of Ryan Payton, when he carefully explained the fact that currently MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive. It's laughable.
Don't get me wrong though, I do in fact think that a port just might turn up someday. But it is known as a fact that Kojima Productions are not developing two versions at the same time. So if a port sees the daylight it will most likely be as the "special edition" (Substance, Subsistence). And that's probably a year or something after the actual MGS4 release.
So long post short, until Kojima Productions confirms that Metal Gear Solid 4 will also be released for Xbox 360, the game remains a PS3 exclusive.
.......nerd.![]()
Some people think that repeating something that is false once and again will make it turn true..
Kojima or Konami can change their minds and break the exclusivity if they consider it and that's legit too, but as of now seems that all these rumors are only the wish of the fanboys, either that or just interested rumors from somewhere else..
Anyways I guess they'll have to wait a bit more to see the game on 360![]()
Who are you to speak? You are hanging around a emulation board!
Fanboy wishes indeed. I know for sure that I will enjoy the game on PS3, when it finally gets released. I will in fact even get myself the American version of MGS4. Europe most likely will have to wait an additional 6 months as usual.![]()
Ah, I was wondering if they had changed the name. I stoped reading Super Play a couple of years ago..
It's quite ridiculous though. I mean, it took me about five seconds to do a search on their fucking website.. but, eh, why the hell did that ps3fanboy site say that the only source was SP?

So hey, the source wasn't this...superplay thing. Just an FYI to those who keep clutching at it as proof that MGS4 will never go multi-console, as if Konami wouldn't release it on the 360 at the drop of a hat if it stood to make them money.
Elmdor they said that because the "source" of this particular rumor, a forum poster over at the Xbox forums, said that the confirmation of a port was indeed found in an issue of Super Play. All bullshit.
Cyber, I guess you are talking about a different rumor? If not, and we are still talking about the one Elmdor posted about, here's the post from Xbox forums where the rumor originates from:
And then read this: http://insider.ign.com/teasers/388/388211.htmlFrom the Swedish gamer magazine Super Play.
The same magazine that was first in the world with Halo 3-footage and the confirmation of VF5 for 360.
"At the end of 2007, one of the biggest titles to be released for any of the current generation consoles is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. As the follow up to the blockbuster smash hit PS2 title Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, it will problably sell extremely well and be played by many PS3 fans. However, sole owners of Wii and Xbox 360 would have to do without it. Fortunately, Konami isn´t completely blind to the fact that more gamers deserve to play this epic title, and it is now confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the Xbox 360 will launch a year later in November 2008. It will come with new content additions including VR missions and other bonus gameplay like Snake Tales, which lets you go on more objective-based missions -- some quite lengthy. So, there's no question that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the Xbox 360 comes packed with more content than the original PS3-version.
Seemingly, the Xbox 360 Metal Gear would have been the one to wait for, but Konami respond by releasing the slightly beefed up Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 as well."
So yeah well... pretty fun stuff.
There's been like two other rumors the other days. Don't believe them either.![]()
