    Default Please help a newbie.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this emulation business, please help me out!

The game I'm trying to get to work is Castlevania SOTN, which I downloaded from this site.

I'm on a Mac, so I use Toaster and PCSX.

I unzipped the files and got a .bin and a .cue file, and since PCSX only have the "Run Cd" option I did the "Mount image" thing in Toaster. When I click "Run Cd" I only get a black screen! What can the problem be?

Umm, I don't have much experience with Mac PSX emulators. Does it require plugins? If so, did you configure them? Also, you may want to direct the emulator where it is you mounted the game. Also, is your Mac even powerful enough to run PSX emulators?

    Michael's on the right track.

Download and unzip this to PCSX's plugin folder:
    http://www.pbernert.com/html/cdr.htm

Then start PCSX and go to Configuration > Plugins & BIOS > and under CDROM, choose P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4 > Configure > choose the appropriate settings (you should be able to figure out what they are).

You'll also need a bios file, if you don't already have one.
You can get it from here (PSX_Bios_SCPH1001.zip)
    http://www.emuparadise.org/biosfiles/bios.html

You have to unzip that into the Bios folder, then go into Plugins & BIOS and set it.

    edit--
btw, this info applies to the Windows version of PCSX.
If there are any differences between it and the Mac version, I apologize; since I don't have a Mac, I wouldn't know about that.

Such fast replies! Thank you very much, I will try this...

Edit: IT WORKS, IT WORKS! It was the fault of an incorrect Playstation bios!

I'm so happy to finally be able to play this game
