Way to spoil my chance to chant "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Dick.
As I was walking down the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish he'd go away.
Back on Topic.
After being in Louisville for a few months, I can really start to see the true nature of the beast. Racism issues here at UofL are VERY VERY touchy. There are numerous black only scholarships and numerous black only clubs. Not to mention that until just a few days ago, there was a portion of the SGA budget that was for black only student organizations that equaled that of the budget for all the international and other minority groups combined. I can't also fail to mention that they had complete free reign over where this money went and what it was used for.
In my opinion, society has moved to the point of no return. Laws like Affirmative Action are so ingrained in many parts of society that it will be almost as hard to get them out of society as it was to get them there for the first place. They have outlived there purpose. As long as they continue with affirmative action and similar ideals, each new generation will come to expect it.
I don't know how society is preaching equality when in fact it is preaching separation and segregation. It is just a different type of separation and segregation then what was present in the first half of the 20th century.
All in all, I honestly believe that society has progressed against the teaching of Martin Luther King Jr. He preached for a nation that didn't look at the color of someone's skin or what race they were. Yet, this still happens today just as much as it did when he was alive.
