Devil May Cry has that "metal" feel to it, which automatically signifies manliness. Metal music, swords, demons, and freaky shit = metal.

Also, I think everyone ended up succumbing to that. That was the entire premise of the game, I think.

I haven't gotten around to playing GoW yet, because I sold my PS2 shortly after Final Fantasy X-2 came out and ripped me off.

Get the espers first. Particularly Zodiark, Chaos, and ultima. They make Yiazamat and Hell Wyrm a lot easier.
