how easily do you give people rep for their posts?
I seem to give it out a lot compared to other people. If someone helps me with something i asked for, i thank them by giving rep, but i seem to be in the minority. (not a complaint)

I rarely rep. Unless there's a repworthy post. Which usually comes from the same people. I have to go on a rep spree to rep one person though so...

Yup. Not many people give rep. Unless they get to know you, or you do them favors. And even with the favors, it's still a maybe. And don't ask for rep. You'll end up getting negative rep.

Most people won't rep unless you're uploading games that they want (whether or not they were the one requesting it) or you're taking their side in one of the disagreements that pop up here every now and then.
I know the thats where 90% of my rep came from.

It's liek you're a new guy in town. You can't just walk around, go to school etc and say "Oh, why don't people know me?" Which would be because you have no reputation.
You have to do memorable or good things to get (a) reputation.
