Default Annoying Mini-games and Sub quests

I've recently been playing Breath of Fire 3 and 4 lately, and I'm really starting to get fed up with some of these stupid mini-games. Breath of Fire 3 is particularly bad for the amount of sub quests it forces you to run, mostly to disguise how small the game world actually is. The shisu making quest springs immediately to mind.

Breath of Fire 4 doesn't have the silly sub quests, but compensates by tossing in a ton of mini-games for you to play. Need information? Gotta play the "bribe the old man" mini-game! Want to get a ride across the desert? You need to play the "load the ship game"!

All the Breath of Fire games feature the awful fishing mini-games, though I personally feel that the version in BoF 3 is the worst. I'd skip fishing entirely if it wasn't required to get one of the masters.

Are there any other games (not necessarily RPGs) that have annoying or pointless mini-games?

FF X springs to mind. Although, they're more like boring sidequests.

The Oblivion persuasion minigame annoys me, because it forces you to use the wrong topics in order to finish the persuasion session. O_o
Also, I've always hated fishing and archery minigames in Zelda. The fishing game in Link's Awakening is the rare exception.

Hey I like all those stupid mini-games in RPGs The fishing games in Breath of Fire ruled, even when they kinda sucked

However when they try to pass them off as a real games just by themselves (read Mario Party & Warioware) I absolutely hate them. I suppose I just like them when they have at least a little bit of a point.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

All's good until you get to see the sidequests in FFX. Man, those were a drilling annoyance to complete. That fucking butterfly game and the lightning bolt dodging deal grew a handful of grey hairs in my head, but at least the reward you get for completing them was worth it.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales is the king of games with dumb mini games There's so many of them, and you got to play them several times to progress with the storyline.

Yeah, Jetset, All the LoZs contain just the right amount of sidequests and mini games, so that you don't get bored.

And fishing in OoT is awesome.

The dodge 200 thunderbolts in a row is annoying though. Blitzball is horribly boring though.

The Beaver Bother game in DK64 is quite a bother. Actually all the mini games in DK64 are annoying. Even more so, when you put so much effort into something hoping to get a gold banana only to find a mini game barrel instead.

    There was others that came to mind but I forgot them -_-;

I didn't mind them in 1 and 2, because you could always just remove all the fish you didn't want. I have a hard time distinguishing most of the shadows in BoF 3 though, and quickly got tired of pulling up piranahs when what I needed was a rainbow trout.

On that note, not all mini-games are stupid. I really do like the sandflier racing in BoF 4, for instance. But for every fun game (sandflier racing) you get two annoying ones (get the chickens into the fence and load the crates onto the ship).

Oh, I think my all-time biggest annoyance was the "Desert of Death" in Breath of Fire 3. What were they thinking?!

The computer/internet part of Front Mission 3 was horribly annoying. I actually liked it at first, kept notes and wasted a few hours, but it got boring real fast. That's all I can think of really, most mini-games are tons of fun. Especially the chocobo thang in FFIX, that was fucking excellent.

    Oh, and Mario Party rocks.

    Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.
He's got black hair, and he's german.
    Michael Ballack, trains in paddocks.
in his spare time, HE FARMS HADDOCKS!

The side quest in BoF3 with the butterfly world made me mad. I got so attached to those creatures that I never managed to end the game
