Default FFVIII - Im completely NOOB

Hey i've got the FFVIII stuff from http://www.emuparadise.org/roms/psx/ff8/ and i've got no idea what to do with the .cue & .bin files that are in the compressed folders. Do i use a iso maker to convert them or somthing?

Don't worry about explaining emulators i've got the ePSXe compatibled (wtf whats plural for that word) and its all set up to use i just need to find out how to use it.

    I think you mean FFVIII

    FFXIII mean 13.

If you're just going to run them with epsxe, all that you need to do is extract the files, select 'Run ISO' from the epsxe menu, and select the relevant .bin. 'ISO' in this case doesn't mean literally a .iso file. Just a CD image. epsxe supports quite a few different formats, and it should play a .bin just fine.

Use WinRAR to decompress the image inside, right click on the first part "Extract here". When you have the bin/cue files, you're better off mounting them on a virtual drive over running from ISO in ePSXe (recommended virtual drive: Daemon Tools, there's a guide here on how to mount images) Set ePSXe to read the virtual drive with FFVIII mounted upon it. Then you're good to go. But remember to use 1.5.2, and to increase the off screen drawing.

Run ISO works fine with games like FF 8 that don't have CD audio tracks.

Daemon Tools is necessary for games with CD audio, because Run ISO only loads the data track, not any CD audio tracks.

You only need to decompress part 1 and it will extract all the files from all the parts.

1.)Don't double post. Edit your last post.
2.)This question has already been answered at least a hundred times.

...however even I seem to be having a problem finding that post so...

In the video plugin settings where it says "Framerate", check "Use FPS limit" and make sure that "Auto-detect FPS/Frame skip limit" is selected. Now set "FPS limit (10-200)" to 60 for NTSC games and 50 for PAL games. Chances are the copy you have is NTSC so you will want to set it to 60.

According to this, you've got 32 MB of VRAM:
    http://www.intel.com/support/graphic...phics+852main&

If that's true, then forget Screen Smoothing. You need more VRAM then that.

Read this to learn more about the D3D plugin:
