MDF Files WHY DO PEOPLE USE THEM????

Took about 3-4 hours to format the hdd in my laptop, install XP, and get my fingerprint scanner working. My battery life did go up, so did the speed of my comp. Unfortunately, most of the drivers I downloaded from Toshiba's website don't work with XP; which means that I have to search the internet for some drivers and apps...
