That movie was not great in the way of Fight Club or The Departed though. It was more of a, "Hey that was pretty funny and badass at the same time." Overall, the movie should have had about 1000x less slow motion. The only scene that deserved the slow motion was the sweet dropkick.

Silent Hill mostly sucked bad. Accept for that whole barbed wire up the vagina then rip and half scene. Oh, that and the tit grab/rip all your fucking skin off scene. Those were the only scenes worth watching. Resident Evil was just lame. If you like those movies though, you should see Crank if you haven't yet. That has to be about the best action movie ever created.

Yes, but as a special effects movie it was quite good. I mean I wasn't expecting the departed when I walked it. At best, probably the matrix or something. A loose plot that's really just an excuse for slow motion ass kicking and stuff getting fucked. Walking into the departed I expected a good plot. Which it more than delivered. Which makes it good for that reason. I'd say 300 is probably about as good as a special effects as it should be to get a passing grade from me.
