Stubborn image.

I downloaded Street Fighter Zero 3 for PSX. It came in .mds/.mdf extensions. The problem I'm having is that it won't run in ePSXe. So I'm trying to re-rip it using something else. I mount the image in a virtual drive, I tried ripping from the VD using Alcohol, and UltraISO (which never usually fails me), and for both programs, whenever the process gets to 14%, it just stays there, and does nothing. I'm not sure what else to do now. I'm just looking to take the game and make it either a .ISO file, or .bin/.cue.

Street Fighter Zero 3 is the Japanese version of Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Unless there's a difference between the 2 (I don't recall if there is), why not try to find the US version?--I think SNESorama has it.

Strangely enough, certain play mechanics were executed differently in the Japanese version. It's nothing very major, but I always prefered it over the U.S. version.

I expected more from you Segnin. I take it there's simply no solution to this if something like Alcohol can't knock it out? Since you kind of directed me to a different version of the game.

You can also just download the CPS2 original version and play it on Kawaks/Mame. I have no idea in regards to the differences between originals and ports of Capcom games though.

I know. But, I want to play the Japanese PSX port. I have the game, but it won't run on ePSXe, nor will it seem to convert to something else correctly.

Edit: That SFZ 3 at SOR was uploaded via Rapidshare, and now I have to wait 83 minutes between downloads. :\ That's not an option. I have the game on me, I just need to convert it.

I'd start downloading the one at SNESOrama.

In the meantime, you could try ISOBuster, CDRWin or CloneCD to rip a new image from the one you've got, but if Alcohol can't do it...

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but I still don't have everything I need transferred to and installed on my new comp yet, like any of my CD ripping software or game's lists, so I don't even know if I have a copy of Street Fighter Zero 3 that I can upload for you.

How exactly do I use CDRWin? I just installed it.

Mount image to Daemon Tools.
Open CDRWin > Click the 3rd one on the top (Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors)
Under CD Reader, click down arrow and choose Generic DVD-ROM.
Under Image Filename, click the little square button, and choose where you want to save the bin, then type in the name you want for your bin file, like maybe:
Street Fighter Zero 3.bin

Make sure to include the extension in the name.

Leave all other settings alone, and Click Start.

After you're done, click the open door to Exit.

Its very self explanary. Hold the cursor over the big images in the GUI to see what they mean. That should get you more than started.

:\ I'm starting to wonder if there's simply something wrong with the image itself. I found an old CD-RW with not so important things on it. I tried erasing it using Alcohol (because I don't have anything Nero installed yet), and it didn't erase a thing. I thought maybe once blank, I could burn it to disc, then try ripping it that way.

You have a bad disc.

Your best bet is to download the one on SNESOrama.
The sooner you start, the sooner you'll have the game.

You might even have a rip; refer to this thread to find out how to tell if the game is a rip or not:
