I'm fairly certain everyone on here who has a PSP has mod'd it in one way or another.

There is more and more huge risks in moding the psp.

Find me a easy way without risking my psp.

Even downgrading has a risk, but I was lucky. 1.5 FTW
I'm going to try to make a custom background or something simple

Wave Flasher v3 is safe...comes with a few waves. Works with custom firmware, not 1.5!
and I recommend that you have a recovery folder if you have custom firmware.
It has saved me from a few bricks

there are always risks no matter how safe the program is

Ok looks cool, but does it enable you to play all emulators out there for the psp?
Will it enable you to download roms for the psp and save them in the memory card?

I have heard of firmware but I am new to it and never tried it.

    The custom firmware?
It's compatible with the emulators I own, like snestyl, dgen, rin...
But I know that X-Flash doesn't work, but Flash Agent is a good substitute.
I can't think of any others that don't work

You can always go back to 1.5, if you install a recovery folder.

Heres a good theme pack for your psp, you can customize your battery icons, waves gameboots and more.
