So I'm a fan of the anime Negima!?, and currently only one group is subbing it. I checked their site, and they had a chatbox. I, being somewhat bored, decided to post there, just to pass the time. At first, it was sorta fun, in a geeky way. I talked to alot of strange and unusual people, who seemed like they were alright. And then someone asked about the status of new episodes, as Maroha releases new eps like once a month, if that. And that's when I realized that the people who frequent that chatbox are self-righteous, overzelous jerks.
They take it upon themselves to tear into anyone asking after the release status for new episodes, and they seemed to do it on the notion that if they don't express their undying love for Maroha and their efforts, that they'll drop the series.
I told them that doing so is just as much of a turn-off as what they've dubbed "whining", and that it also paints the picture to newbies that they're likely to be treated with contempt if they ask a question that the regulars don't dig. They proceeded to argue with me why doing what they're doing is their job, and that if left ignored, the "whining" would continue, and then, voila, confirmed my suspicion that they indeed do it because they fear that Mahora would drop Negima?!, and they'd be left with nothing to fill their pathetic existances. I told them that, ironically enough they're managing to do just as much damage as the "whiners", and that, case in point, they've turned me off from the series and Mahora's efforts alike.
Y'know, as sad and pathetic as my own existance can sometimes be, I don't think I've ever experienced something as lame as all that. I'm just ashamed that I ever wasted my time there to begin with.
