We talked about this today. The sad part is that they were put up weeks ago, and they just now found them. I put the fault at the Boston police because non of the other cities reacted in that way.
Heard about it yesterday.
HAI GUYZ, THERES SOMETHING ON THE WALL :O
I guess anything with lights and batteries looks suspicious
It's funny how every other city they did this in was fine with it, didn't need to be informed, but Boston automatically thinks it's a bomb.
It's times like these that make me ashamed to be human.
HAI ITS FLIPPING ME OFF. ITS A BOM!
I can't believe the company is actually being blamed for this. x_X As far as I can see, it's just absolute, utter stupidity on the part of the police force, and they're trying to blame the company in order to make themselves look better. And the kids were forced to pay for damages? They were quite right to laugh through their trial. Disgraceful... =/
What kind of bomb is covered in flashing lights? XD Moreover, what kind of bomb is in the shape of a cartoon character? They're calling it a 'bomb scare', but there wasn't even anything remotely bomb-like. x_X It was just an electrical device. If we live in a world paranoid enough to jump to conclusions about anything with wires in it, then I'm scared.
Yeah, it really does seem like it is being blown way out of proportion. All of the news channels seem to be making these guys out to be major criminals. I even heard one man say that they should be given the harshest punishment possible. I mean come on, fuck that. These guys set out to harm or scare no one.
Eh, you're just being paranoid.
Really though, I agree. They police force made a mistake, and now, rather than admit that it was all a knee-jerk reaction based entirely on a paranoid mindset, they'll pass it off on these guys instead. It's a shame that they can't man up and admit that they were wrong, and that they had no reason going in to suspect any foul play here. It's childish and petty the way their acting, and if there's any justice left in this world, they won't get the outcome they're looking for.
What I find funny is that quite a few Boston residents are deriding the police, saying that their overreaction makes them all look like paranoid freaks. Actually, I don't find it funny, so much as I appluad them for being cool about it, and demonstrating that not everyone in Boston has their heads so far up their asses that they could like their own colon.
