    Default Real-Time spyware protection...

I'm looking for a good real-time (free) spyware/adware protection program. I have Ad-aware, Spybot S&D and Spyware blaster.
The only free ones I've seen and they both look good are Windows Defender and Spyware Terminator
I use IE7, Firefox and opera (newest of both) to browse and I want the program to cover those.
I just downloaded Spyware Terminator last night but do any recommend Windows Defender or a different one?

You might want to think twice before you install Spyware Terminator. Spyware warrior are presently listing it as a rogue scanner.

If you have a good AV on top of those, you have enough installed in my opinion, either way there's lots of more info at that site.

If you have Ad-aware, Spybot S&D and Spyware blaster, don't install more. Seriously.

    I have Avast! AV.
Alot of people say Spyware Terminator is good... what does "rogue scanner" mean though?

and I have all those 3 installed but neither of them are live protection, i mean neither can stop spyware/adware from getting onto the pc in the first place, they just remove it after its already on.

As for Windows Defender, does it also work for Firefox and opera? so Does it just protect all traffic?

    any suggestions for real-time protection?

I know of an anti-spyware program with great active protection, but it's a commercial product, not freeware.
Sometimes you do get what you pay for, you know.

    Yeah, that's true
I use Spysweeper myself, and it's good.

    Pest Patrol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PestPatrol
I payed $15 for a one year license the last time my computer was in shop. That was a sale price, though, so it's probably higher to buy a license off eTrust directly.
The best feature of Pest Patrol is it's system scan. It does a "smart scan", only scanning certain areas and all active proccesses, rather than your whole computer (though it can if you want it to). It scans your browser stuff, windows file, registry, and currently running processes, I'm pretty sure. It literally scans about 40k items in under 15 seconds, and I've never got a single spyware program using it. I have it's active protection, along with AVG free, active on my computer constantly.
The only disadvantages are that it completely ignores tracking cookies (these are relatively harmless, anyway), and it's updates take a long time for me to complete (1 hour+, though I'm on dial up).
The license is for the software and one year of updates. After it's up, you can still fully use pestpatrol, but it won't update itself anymore.
