Yeah, if you reboot after installing the patch, the Calc shouldn't show up

At least it worked for me

EDIT: I just have installed Firefox, now updating AVG and Ad-Aware (just in case )

    woot opera

    woot, again
yep opera rocks but all my friends still insist on using firefox but thats ok with me.
Its just annoying when they try to impose firefox on you
I love opera so much I went to a great deal of trouble to install opera mobile 8.5 .on my axim X51v
btu opera doesn't come out for my pda until 15 Jan but I got one from a japanese pda that will be coming out soon, and had opera 8.5 on it, but it checked that the pda was a sharp... something
so then I had to hex edit the main opera dll to remove the check.
It may seem like a lot of trouble but...
now Im posting this on my axim by writing on the screen like a pen

also windows Xp has been out for so long yet this has been discovered only just now, how many more flaws are we going to see in windows XP (dont answer that!)

there was just an update released today for xp. Dunno if it is the fix we are looking for though.

Edit: since i just reformatted my C drive, i decided to experiment with some firewalls. i found that Filtergate tended to block out any and every image on its hard settings.

I assume there is a fair amount of people here without automatic updates enabled, so your notice is a good thing, I was just being a smart ass

Well since the issue has been resolved I'm going to unsticky this thread. Can't see much further use for it, at least.

Steve Gibson has been working with the WMF vulnerability.

"Microsoft has patched the WMF vulnerability in Windows 2000 and XP, but in his research for a fix for Windows 95/98/Me Steve has come up with a blockbuster. It is his considered opinion that the WMF vulnerability could not have been a mistake. It was an intentional backdoor inserted into Windows by Microsoft for reasons unknown. Listen for details."
