i have 3 optical drives cause i got my pc retail with 2 drives (the cd-rw and 8x dvd-rw)
later my dad wanted a dual layered so he asked me and i picked out a nice NEC ND-3540A
i didn't want to take any drives out cause i'd have to put them somewhere so left them in.
also i DON'T need 2 burners, its just that the pc came cheap

well its good that they can work with each other when i had my vaio i tryed buttin in a sony 16x dual layer but the old optical drives had some issues with it so i had to take em out

as good a deal as it may seem custom is still the way to go since youll know everything you put in it and itll be what you want and its cheaper that way too

as for the 6600gt dont get me wrong its a great card especially for its price but the 850 pro is a 256mb 256 bit card with 12 pipes

i payed $230 for the card and another $30 for a replacement plan since ive actually blown up a card before

custom IS the way to go but i was 13/14 and didn't know much about pc building (nor was i interested) at the time. i was too busy with emulation. thats partly why i'm on EP. but i've learned a lot since then and i'm still learning.

i coulda bough the 6600GT for $180 (140) on newegg but they dont deliver to ireland so i ended up paying 170~ ($210) fot it.

i bow down to the 12 pipelines of the 850pro (8 for 6600GT)
also the new ones coming out have 20 pies!!! cooool!

    "blown up" by oc-ing?
cause i oc-ed my old mx440. then the fan decided to stop stop working properly.

    NOT good at all.

also i'm using a vaio laptop right now:
    800mhz, 256MD SDRAM,14",ehhhh crap battery that lasts 10 min.

Hey, anyone know if I could upgrade the Video card on my laptop? By the looks of it I can, but I'm not sure, and where would I buy a new one?

I know. I'm pretty good on those sorts of things/subject, since that's pretty much what I do all day, and for a job.

Just didn't know much about the video cards bit.
