Reminds me of Something Awful's Truth Media, where they review things really bad and inaccurately to anger people. Then they keep record of people who email them insults and post them on the site, it's really great.

I dont think that critics are asses at all. They give an opinion, based on thier personal feelings on whatever particular product they are payed to review. If they dont feel the same way you do about something, well dont be suprised. Its called an opinion. You've got one, I've got one, and Little Johnny Dongflogger down the street has one. They arent always going to match up. For instance, I've disagreed with every movie review Siskel and Ebert ever did, but I dont think they are asses for not liking something I do.
yea i know that everyone has their own opinions, but sometimes, it's hard to think someone could disagree on something that you feel so strongly about.

Maybe the guy was running on a diet of caffiene and sugar for too long, and wasn't thinking. It's happened to me before. Then again I don't think alot....

Come on, we all know that a review also depends a lot on the mood of the person playing the game at that moment. Especially if the reviewer spends an hour with the game and then sets out to write a review... well, it's bound to be a disaster for the game if he's in a bad mood, or.. not in the mood to play that kind of game. I've noticed how I revolt when a game which I don't want to play is accidentally clicked on and I feel like throwing my gamepad out of the window in 5 seconds.. mood is important

I just got Xenogears from Firefox's FTP and I love the game. It's totally refreshing battlesystem and has cool manga like cutscenes. Couldn't get it here in Holland though because it was never released here! Does anybody know why Square didn't release it in Europe???? (and other games like this) , because I can't think of a reason why not...

Probably the same reason why many SNES RPGs didn't get released in Europe either... Nintendo and Square decided that RPGs weren't selling very well in Europe, so to save money they simply didn't release a lot of the big RPGs such as Chrono Trigger and some of the Final Fantasy games.

Which is quite unfortunate for the people living in Europe, lots of those games were spectacular. I'll probably never play a game as good as CT

I thought they didn't release it because of Europe's "religious values"
If u played the game u know exactly what I'm talking about.

If you read shadows review of the game he gives it a 9.4 i think. Usually what I do is find a reviewer that likes the games i like and go with this reviews. For example say if i like action games and my reviewer(who also goes with action games) played an RPG and said it sucked it would probaly suck to me. But if he went wow this RPG really appeals to me, it probly means i'd like it. So maybe that guy reaches out to the population that dislikes rpgs and want to know if they wanna waste money on it.
