Not the greatest game out there, but decent.

I didn't consider that mecha. Just some guys in powered-up astronaut suits thingies shooting at aliens. They don't look mecha enough

Kileak the blood & Kileak the blood 2: Reason in madness may also be considered, though they're more FPS inside mechs.

Front Mission 3 is one of the best! And Xenogears...oh baby those two will keep you busy for a few months.
