Default Earthbound sequel coming to GBA (Maybe in English too?)

    Mother 3
Nintendo has opened a teaser website that finally confirms that Mother 3 is not only coming out, but that it will see release sometime next spring. This fits in with what series creator Shigesato Itoi recently said on his website.

The teaser site for Mother 3 contains no details of the plot, but it shows the logo and confirms that it will retail for the standard 5040 yen after tax.

Currently there has been no announcement as to whether or not the game will see a release outside Japan. Only Mother 2, known as Earthbound in North America, has made it to other shores.

    System: GBA
    ETA: Spring for Japanese release

I know Earthbound has some fans here (I never got into it personally) so I thought I'd post this info.

I don't. I just have a feeling that it won't. Still wondering why they didn't release Mother 1+2 outside of Japan...

Im still waiting for the Mother 3 N64 beta to possibly be dumped. We may be close, but cant figure out how to dump the data off of these DD disks...Then we'll see if it is really Mother 3

Even if NoA or NoE don't translate it, the fans will... I still don't get why Nintendo FINISHED a translation of Mother 1 and then never released it (Earthbound Zero is just a hack of the unreleased translation that added Zero to the title screen and removed a screen that said anyone playing the game outside of NoA development staff was playing a stolen cart)

It's been a while since I read the article, but I think the reason why Earthbound "Zero" never was released is answered here: http://www.lostlevels.org/200407/200...rthbound.shtml

Wow. That's a great article. I wonder if anyone has a proof printing of the 80-page manual or the posters that should have come with the game had NoA not decided to deep-six the game to sell more SNESes.
