Default "New mammal" seen in Borneo woods

I woke up this morning and switched on the news and heard this story.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4501152.stm

I was just wondering, has anyone in there travels ever came across an animal that they have never seen before on tv/books/real life? and if so, explain it to us.

I was out in the woods near where I live taking my friends dog for a walk, when all of a sudden the dog found something dead on the ground, it looked like a mixture of a rat and a squirrel.

It was really weird, but with a planet this size it's not that surprising that we find new species every month or so.

    Yeah, this is cool.
But a bad thing is that I think an entire species goes extinct every hour, on average

    Yeah.
Thats because we kill what we fear and don't understand.
We are the animals, not them.

Oh man, it's Ryu. Hi, sexy.

I haven't come across any new ones, unless you count just seeing normal animals for the first time. And yeah, the planet is a lot bigger than one would think, it'd be a damned good job for us to have discovered and categorised every life form on it by now.

We've only thoroughly explored about 2% of the world's oceans too. Just imagine what kind of fucked up and scary sea monsters are out there.

Ey fate, still swedish and sexy I see. Hows it going?

Lag: I know, most of this planet is covered in water, and yet we are still finding new kinds of animals on land. Makes you think whats under the water.

Yeah, like, everyone's all "Monsters aren't real", But realy, they are in a way, 'cause like, anything we don't recognis (new species and such) would be like a monster. Sorta.

    Well thats just it.
Us as humans are scared of what we don't understand or can't comprehend, so we do the onlything we ever do in that situation, we kill..

I sure hope lurking in them waters is a big ass pedator mammel that has a good intelect, and will kill any human on sight, this would mean that it has common sense.

Oh man, I can't wait till they find the Ogopogo (a monster said to be related to the Loch Ness in my area). I know he's out there, I've seen him. But I wouldn't like hunting him down

And that giant squid they found (I first saw it in a thread here) was pretty cool. So fucking huge. Like 30 feet, and there's gonna be alot more discovered monsters and stuff in about 15 years.

95 points for RK. You'll learn someday, little grasshopper. Maybe you shall surpass your master aswell. But for now, train.

I hope this world ends like right after I die. That'd mean that I was god and no one noticed, which they don't yet.

Holy fuck. Oh my god. I cannot believe that second video. It said that it was gonna be shocking, but wow... If that's real... That's like, the coolest thing EVER. IN THE WORLD EVER!

Hmm... It seems alot of people doubt that's real. I don't know what to think, but it would be amazing if something like that ever happened. It's like a titan washed ashore from the bottom of the ocean and it's been there for hundreds of years... But it's cool just to imagine. Fucking awesome anyway.
