It's a fact because I think so.

One thing I find funny when I talk to people about god is the amount of humanity that is always attributed to him/her/it. Here we have this intity that created everything. The planet, the sun, the galaxy, the universe (but only one hospitable planet able to bare life?) in only seven days. If you compare this one little planet to all that surrounds it, you would see how very, very tiny this little mud rock really is. And yet they use words like loving or vengful to describe this thing that is so far removed from human comprehension as to boggle the mind. A force of pure natural power void of emotions and anything remotely resembling human thought. And yet religion trys to understand it and give it reason when if taken at a rational perspective it's impossible not to see that we are nothing compared to its scope. I'm talking gianormus here. Love your god, but know you'll never understand it and stop telling me what it says or would think.
I'm becoming convinced that us atheists are becoming more rude than the preachy-type of people we dislike...
Well I do dislike war, but I'm well aware that it's nearly impossible to tame humankind's violent nature, so you won't see me frolicking around putting flowers in the barrels of soldiers' rifles. If I weren't as peaceful I'd probably embrace the idea of a massive genocide of about 99.7% of the human race.Originally Posted by Xena

I'd say most human qualities are irrespective of religion. One can believe in any religion, but it doesn't determine what kind of person they will be.Originally Posted by Soeru
Yes, humans are hypocrites, but culture and religion can exagerate the behavior of humans. You don't see animals going back on their "word". If they don't like you, they'll make it painfully obvious, literally.Originally Posted by Xaenn
Animals are truly the master race.
i think god does exist since i dont have anything else to believe in.
Do you feel it is really necessary for you to believe in his existance to lead a happy life? I personally don't, and I seriously doubt most religious followers are constantly thinking about God in an everyday situation, otherwise that'd be one hell of a monotonous life.Originally Posted by the ruler
I'm not being sarcastic or offensive here, but if I sugar-coat my questions people will interpret it very differently, I just want your honest answer.![]()
