Neither of those is "dumb" for enjoying, especially classical music.

Listening to classical does not make you an intellectual or at least remotely sophisticated, you know.

No, but it is the last genre someone should feel dumb for liking. I know we live in a society were intelligence is shunned and never appreciated, but it is folly to think that appreciating classical music is worthy of shame.
And yes, usually only the sophisticated like me can enjoy such brilliance.

@ leatherlord - You should rename this thread to The Guilty Pleasure Thread

I used to like Creed , and way back in the day I was down with Vanilla Ice . Since then i have learned to cut through the bullshit pretty efficiently, though i can't say the same for my brother (he kinda likes Justin Timberlake).

One band that I am totally not embarassed to like are the Minibosses. They kick ass!! I know there are some other bands like them out there but i can't for the life of me remember the names. Could anybody help me out?

Honestly, that name was in mind but I decided to go with the current one. I know I have a guilty pleasure for liking the NIN song Only.

Well, I got to where I started listening to this band because it seemed like their music was the only thing that would come on the radio when I'm at work (I work 3rd shift). I'm still rather embarrassed to say, but The Killers. I still can't figure out why I listen to them, but their goddamned songs just keep getting stuck in my feeble little brain

    Touch me.

Also, you know what? This thread reminds me of the time you (as in, all of you) and your mates all get round and discuss the merits of wanking. You all shy away from the topic at first, then once one of you owns up to it the floodgates open and everyone openly admits to cracking one off. So here, one of you admits to liking ABBA, then all of a sudden, everyone does!

So yeah, shit music and wanking. Excellent anologyage.

Have you seen the BBC show called Coupling? If so, have you seen the episode in which one of the characters is afraid to admit to his girlfriend that he wanks, and interprets a comment from her parents about "doing some solos" as a reference to his wanking escapades, when it was really about his solo singing hobby. British humor for the win. Definately the greatest sitcom I've ever seen.

Coupling was gold for the first two series, but the last one sucked as the Welsh guy, Jeff, wasn't in it. He ruled
