Well if you have dial up thats cool. I mean your paying a fraction of what we are paying but geez man how can you sit there and wait for pages to load while downloading something. When i used to have dial up(many moons ago) I wouldnt even surf the net if i was downloading something it would take at least a minute for the yahoo home page to load

Qwest DSl...I once had Comcast Cable but it was horrible. I don't know what I'd do if I had to use dial up again. It would be one thing if websites were designed to be low-bandwidth, but they aren't.

    Comcast cable.

Despite others problems with it, the speeds are excellent, and no probs.
I switchd from dial up less than a year ago, and I would NEVER go back...

I have the same speed DSL from Verizon, but I only really get 350KB/s most of the time, real consistent though. I'm curious what speed you really get when downloading usually?

Using IE, I get anywhere from 275-375. On USENET I ride right on 420 most of the time, until the download is almost done, and it is only pulling in one or two streams. (Default is 8)

    1Mbit/256Kbit ADSL.
Dial up would equal financial suicide OR very low internet usage. I can't have either.
