Maybe try extracting the MSPAINT files off your Windows CD, and copying them over? Sounds like your files are corrupted...

Try this, or any other google findings from MFC42.dll. Good luck.

    Psst, Sprung, neither was yours.

    ----EDIT----

    Nevermind that, Sprung.

Why would you Google for a file that is on your Windows CD?

Erm, Pirate points it out clearly. But, I was refering to the idea that you can google to know if that's a common problem or if there are solutions for it. Anyways, who the heck knows what MFCsomething is? I'm not a geek, so my answer was absent of geekissitude.

Is that upon loading or what?

Oh, and it doesn't matter how big of a geek anyone is, the stack dump is going to be meaningless to them unless they know the internals of the program.

My best guess would be a corrupt .dll or .exe.

To answer the "what is MFC": It's a set of stock library functions that do common windows tasks in adavce for programmers... It's basically what lazy programmers who don't want to talk staright to Windows use.
