This is old news. Chances are M$ caught the people who did it months ago and then changed the design... Either that of the M$ marketing department did this as a secret publicity stunt... Still, it's old news either way.

Hey numbnuts...click the third link (think that's the one) & you will see now less than 35 pics of the OPENED Dev unit including mainboard, HDD, etc, etc. Matter of fact, this picture shows quite a bit of difference between a normal Xbox and a developer's kit. Pulling from several sources in the scene (if you have any, let me know....... ), this is a legit story and indeed YES, SmartXX has their hands on the actual kits. They have already taken them apart, and they have (or are in process) of dumping the BIOS of the dev kit. The dev kit will have the code needed to make games, and a reverse engineer will very quickly allow anyone with the skill of SmartXX to make a modchip. The question I posted was more rhetorical than anything..of course a modchip will be out shortly.

Note this:
SmartXX had nothing to do with hacking the original xbox. They worked off someone else, who already did the dirty work. The infamous Bunny (Andrew Huang) is the mastermind that really hacked the box.

Everyone seems to believe piracy and chipping and mods can bring a console to it's knees, when seriously, it damages only on a teenie-weenie scale. PlayStation was rife with modchips and pirated games, but it didn't stop that from generating game sales like a beast.
