I'm the one who stops chain mails...COMPLETELY.

These chain mails clog up my msn mail...

"Send this mail to ten people while you think of a wish, the phone will ring and your dreams will come true"

I actually did that just for the heck of it. The phone did ring, but it was a stupid advertising agent or somthing like that. I was wishing for a sexy, naked anime girl in a towel fresh from a bath and still wet to pop out ove my comp and land on me.

But instead a business man? CURSE YOU CHAIN MAIL! YOU WRECKED MY DREAMS!

They have your phone number, which also means they have your address and IP. That's not good, not good at all. I'd watch out for spyware and stuff in the future, and avoid P2P (unless you're Canadian, eat that America) because they probably know everything you're doing as well as who you are.

Always remember, the intenet is watching and it never sleeps.

Heh, "Paypal" sent me an e-mail yesterday stating that to protect my account I had to confirm my identity by typing in my UN/PW at a website that was like http://something.something.com/paypal.html.
My UN was "nicescam" and my P/W was "asshole"

That's nothing. I just received an e-mail from a company based in California and the Netherlands (Euro Afro Asia Sweepstakes International) informing me that I won 3rd place ($50,000 USD) from a financial holding in Nigeria in a lottery sponsored by the "Sultan of Brunei, Bill Gates of Microsoft and his associates" (direct quote)...funny, I always thought a sultan was one person, not a corporate CEO and a bunch of extras. Even better, I didn't even have to buy the ticket.

Same thing happened to me. Though if it's coming from BillfuckingGates, mustn't be trusted. Also, this email had my home address, kind of freaked me out.

Speaking of that, anyone ever recieve an Email complete with IP, real name, usernames (I'm serious here), Address, Email accounts (plural!)? I had an email like that in my early days with computer work and it scared me quite a bit. I closed all the accounts that were listed immediately. I now have several security layers and never use my real name on my computer EVER. I was using an AV firewall (NAV) and Win95 at the time. It wasn't a legit email either. Apparently sharing a computer with family members is a very bad idea (especially technologically impaired younger ones).

I'm just not going to ask, since I'm sure you're absolutely right about that. I trust you.

Hmm. I guess I am a bad example. If someone other than my wife and myself touches my computer, they die. It's a pretty simple agreement.

The kids have their own, and they screw it up, on average, twice a week.

Heh, can somebody send me money? I'm sharing my computer with my 2 parents, one 15yrs odl sister (MSN + CAM ~_~), one 11yrs old brother and one 9yrs old sister.

And trust me, I don't format every week or so, last time it was in september. However, everyone has limited accounts except me and my dad (because he has this ego type thing, oh and also because he bought the computer :X ) but god damn even with ultra limited accounts they're able to fuck things.
The other day, a password was needed for the younger sis and bro account Somehow they were able to see some ads and click on them to get spyware, even though my HOSTS file is like 1mb, they're using Firefox with the AdBlock extension, there is my firewall and my antivirus running and there's also the offensive content filter. How, this is beyond my knowledge. :\
