    Default Rom issues.

Okay hi, newbie here, and this is my first time using a playstation emu (epsxe). I downloaded Valkyrie Profile and when I try to extract the files from the rar, they all have the same name. Am I supposed to put them in different folders, because it keeps asking me to overwrite the file or change the name. It's pretty frustrating. Also, I tried out the game on the first unrar'ed file and it's like super speed. Like when you turn the framerate up on a snes emu or something. How does one fix that? Or is it messed up because the whole game isn't there?

You should change the frame rate to 60FPS(For NTSC games). You can do this through the video plugin config. Just select 'FPS Limit', and type in 60 and walla! btw you might want to enable the special fixes for Valykrie Profile through the sound config using the Eternal SPU plugin(check both SPU IRQ boxes)

Thanks, that worked... but now I still don't know what to do. Especially now. I've played the game up until Arngrim is sent on the mission (with 'change disc'ing every time the screen goes black and stops moving. It worked up until now.) Now it just has a black screen with "the road to blah blah was a week away etc." and I tried 'change disc'ing and that didn't work. Agh

try again it will eventually work. also try not to use save states, use in game saves using memory cards. save states can mess up your game seriously.

through my teachings you will be enlighted....

Rar files with numbers after them are just split parts of one file. You only need to choose extract on one of the files and Winrar does the rest. When you try to extract all the files at once Winrar tries to extract the same file again for every file you chose to extract, so it keeps asking you to overwrite. From now on just extract one file and Winrar will take care of the rest.
