Are you kidding? I'm always pumped.
I seriously doubt they are real since I visit the same sites many many times and always get a 10,000,000 visitor popup. Also some keep track of how many visitors they have and it tends to be less than 10 mil, or was over ten mil and not a round number. I personally haven't done one of these but I'm interested to see if I have given up free stuff by refusing those offers...I think I might have clicked one out of curiosity a while ago and ended up getting some 25c a minute call line from the US, and then I decided it was BS and cancelled.
I'm currently being offered one of those "Get paid for completing surveys." jobs through my university. Seems pretty official, the emails I get from a rep are classified and sent exclusively to me because I emailed back to a mass email to all the students, asking for more info on the job. They require you to pay a $10 membership fee, but you make up to $900 a week depending on how many surveys and "group discussions" I wish to complete. I might do this as soon as the rep gets back to me with some info. I'll use Paypal, in case if I get scammed, they won't have my CC number.
There's this guy that sits on the median by the stoplight at our Wal-Mart. He has a sign that says "On the road, anything helps". I gave him $2 in June. He's still there.
Moral? Everyone sees that same sign. Some fall for it![]()
I'm asking this because I got this one that was like "Get free gas for a year" And seeing how the gas prices is teh upz upz upz.. It'd be pretty useful, and I think that filling out a couple surveys would be a small price to pay.

I mean, it could be worth a try. That would really kick ass if it worked.

Free gas? Thats a really great offer with these gas prices. It's like a million dollar giveaway. If it is legit maybe there is some kind of odd condition (We will cover all gas for a year....for your lawnmower, or free gas for a year....but you can't leave the driveway, or free gas for a year.....but you need to stick this freaking huge ad for our company on the side of your car. Mini vans only, or even Free gas for a year......but you must use it to smuggle drugs and guns across the border). If it does work, let us all know so we can sign up. It'll be the biggest chain since the Demonoid invite thread.
Most offers like that require you to join three or four things you have to pay for, like identity theft protection or a trial of something. You can cancel those offers you have to pay for within the first month and will be refunded. So technically, it is a free PSP or gas or whatever they are trying to give away.
Not worth it to pay $40 or $50 and then remember to cancel 3 or 4 things within a month.

So how is it not worth it if you can just cancel it?Originally Posted by pokerpro

Because you have to join and pay, then cancel after covering the cost of the joining (like those offers where you join a group and get a free prize with paid membership). Usually what is being given away costs a lot less than the membership does. Also if you forget to cancel, you will continue to be billed for that membership.

Haha. Anybody remember that stupid thing about Microsoft giving you like 500 dollars just for forwarding an email of theirs to every one of your messenger contacts? Everybody was telling me to forward this fucking email to everybody and it was getting me annoyed.
I must not have made my previous post too clear. It's $40 or $50 per offer, so take that times 3 or 4 or even 5 in somecases, and you have to pay between $120 and $250 right away to get a "free" PSP sent to you. Then you have to remember to cancel the orders, which you can't do for around a week because they (the offers you paid for) have to process you. And if you don't cancel, you will still get charged per month for the subscription. The worst part is, if you cancel after a month, you don't get any of your money back for that subscription.
It's easier to just go to Best Buy or even Wal-Mart and pick one up.

Someone should create an "Official 'free offers' referral thread".
