I need some suggestions on PC games of any genre that can keep me occupied until TES: Oblivion comes out.

Dungeon Keeper, I know its old but its great fun. Also if you haven't already played it to death you could play Morrowind again.
On the seventh dawn of the seventh day a twice-blessed man will roam the fields. Doomed to shadows with his brethren, or saviour to all who walk the ground.
Broken Sword 1 or 2 just genius those games are.
You probably know which RPGs I'd suggest, and probably wouldn't play them, but anyway, I guess you could give Fallout a try. No mechas in it, but it is great.
civilization, just if you like strategy games,i recomend the third one.It gets adictive when you play it for a couple of minutes

I've been posting before you where an ache in you fathers crotch and you have the balls to call me a spammer.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri with Alien Crossfire expansion. Better than Civilization 3 because of a superior diplomacy mode (No mandatory honoring alliances dragging you back into war with that enemy you just paid your entire treasury to make peace with, for instance...the Mutual Protection Pact was basically a suicide pact if a war went poorly, because it wouldn't stop until one alliance or the other was destroyed), a saner AI (not better, but I don't like playing one person against the world AI every time), more fun units and research (Blind Research is a very interesting challenge if you turn it on, and it simulates actual progress better than "I think I'll have my scientists go work on inventing Writing"...if you don't like it, turn it off and use the normal Civ-style tech tree), and no strategic resources (which is better by far than strategic resources poorly done...I can't count how many times there was only two or three iron resources in the entire world once I discovered Iron Working, which pretty much buggered my peaceful gaming style, and throws a huge kink in a military style). Better than Civ 2 in that it has borders and a slightly better AI...that's really about the only way for Civ 2, though. Better than Civ 4 in that it's out, though it looks like Civ 4 will finally fix all the problems with 3 and be a fun game. A pity AC's not quite abandonware yet, but...Originally Posted by Valholy
Also, abandonware sites are always a nice place to look through for interesting free games. People have already mentioned a lot of other good ones, like BG2, KOTOR 1 and 2 (HK-47 is hilarious, for instance, and Aimo's two takes on T3-M4 pretty much suited my reactions ), and Rome - Total War.
I definitely recommend Riddick - a surprisingly awesome game. also HL2 (if you don't mind paying for it), and i wholeheartedly agree that alpha centauri is the best sid meier game, although i enjoyed Civ 2 immensely.
Other than those, give Chaos Theory a try, it's an amazing game with a thoroughly brilliant soundtrack (even if you're not down with splinter cell, you must BT the soundtrack if you haven't already). Anything by bioware will also ease the pain (remember that only the first KOTOR was made by them, accept no half-assed sequel substitutes!)
Heh, how long until KOTOR 1 and 2 become Abandoneware?
Have you tried "Black & White". This is a good game but it can get frustrating at times.
Yes. Half life 2, awasome.
Though mine is broke, non of the bad guys move or shot. The AI is broken
Other than that : Heavy Metal FAKK 2, KOTOR I & II, Sonic adventure DX, Doom 3 and Kana : Little sister. I like those ones anyway.
Raaagghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... hh..
Psychonauts. It's brilliant, and Tim Schafer's a genius. Period.
