In The presence of Mine Enemies, one of Harry Turtledove's brilliant "what-if" novels.

In the novel, Germany won World War 2, eventually coming to control most of Europe, Canada, the US and Africa. The Empires of Italy and Japan remain in power aswell. 98% of all Jews and Negroes have been exterminated, also. The story is about a family of Jews living in the heart of the German Empire, as major changes are going on in the heart of the Nazi party.

    Going Postal, by Terry Pratchett.

Presently reading The Princess Bride, by S. Morgenstern...it seems, though, that I bought the abridged version. Not sure if that's good or bad, but when the translator basically admits in the intro that he went through and removed everything he thought was boring to make it a children's novel instead of a Florentine satire, I start tending to the latter. I may not finish it, in which case I'd start The Uncrowned King, by Michelle West.

Read the dream stone by Diana Wynne Jones, didn't get much into it, not much for romance dramas even though there was a bit of a fantasy element there

also rereading the Fires of Heaven by robert Jordan. trying to reread the whole wheel of time series in time for the release of the next one some time this month.

Nice pic, Afterburner. Soul Music is a sick book.
Zephyr (or Himiko or whatever), thumbs up wit hall the Terry Pratchett reading. I own most if not all of his books, except the Science of the Discworld series, which was too factual.
Myself, I'm having real difficulty choosing what to read right about now. Whenever I get mu hands on anything Sci-Fi, it's gone within the day Probably going to explore my Dad's collection of philosophy/political theory.

Bang to all you horrid anti-Harry Potty's!

Anyhoo, very excited. Just realized the next 15 days are college-free, and since I'm not going to study until the last day, I've found 15 books to read.
I know. I'm happy for me too

Tell me you're joking. That is the only edition of the book. the whole thing about it being an abridgement is a joke....

Really? Ah, well, that's a relief. Sarcasm doesn't translate well in text. I am...quite embarrassed, though...
