    Default PS2 and Gamecube Emulation

I was just wondering about PS2 and Gamecube emulation. Is it any good?? The last I checked, most of the emulators were just for custom games and couldnt even run commercial ones. The ones that did run commercial ones were slow and sketchy. However, I have seen many people asking for PS2 and Gamecube Isos in the Trading Zone. Does this mean that there are better emulators out that I have missed, or that people just dont care that the emulators are slow?? If there are new emulators, could someone please post a link to one of them here.

PS2 emulation is not at a useable state yet. And even when it is, you'll need a fairly hefty PC to get anywhere near full speed.
Gamecube emulation, I have never tried, so I have no real idea as to it's current state.

Most people who DL PS2 & GC ISO's have hacked system, ie they modded their systems to some degree to allow them to play backup games.

I don't know about PS2 emulators, but I have seen gamecube emulators. I don't use them myself, but there's one called Dolphin or something similar, I know people have made changes to it without the author's permission, making it work plenty good, but due to legal reasons I'm not going to post the site/sites. Making your own's the best way to go, despite the fact that it takes blithering ages.......
    I'll find it....... eventually.........

Dolphin source was released to the public a while ago..
PCSX2 is still under development by it's original developers.
    Where is the problem?

The mods/additions were made before Dolphin became open source, and it's easy to see they hacked it to pieces, Just my last word.

May be legal now, but is it ethical?

Thanks for the knowledge then I might grap a copy of Dolphin's source myself

Dolphin hacks? Never heard of any. I wouldn't imagine simple hacks would achieve anything much anyways - most of the slowness comes from emulating the PPC core.

The Dolphin source has never been released. I can't help but feel you are both confusing this with another emulator.

The source you are probably referring to is the Dolwin source.

May be worth your while checking the compatability thread on Emutalk first and foremost, unless you want a wasted download For the record pretty much only Bust A Move 3K is properly playable (and I think some other 2d game, forgot which).

Yeah I got BAM 3K, I habe the other one to, its called Namco museum.

Ive foor quite alot of games work well, but just slow. Like star soldier, Ikaruga,Crazy taxi, Paper mario 2, Legend of Zelda the wind waker, Super smash bros melee and tons of others ive downloaded and tested.

The only ones ive found that do not work at all are lost kingdoms I & II. Others do work but normaly crash before you go ingame, like luigis mansion and Final fantasy chrystal chronicals
