I found the link on another message board.

Somebody had posted a list of rom/iso sites, and this was one of them.
I lurked for a very long time, about 2 years, mainly because with dial-up (back then) I couldn't tie up the phone line for very long. It was either use my Internet time to download some roms/isos, or use it to click all these links to read all these posts, and click more links to make my own posts, and wait for all these pages to take their sweet time to load...

Yeah, dial-up kind of sucks that way.

Um... Upon first getting a CD burner, I set about trying to find out if there was any means of pirating all the Playstation RPGs that Europe had missed out on. My computer wasn't fast enough for a PSX emulator at that time, so I had never really looked into it before. Luckily I found that there was.

The first game I set about getting was Chrono Cross (which was, incidently, also one of the most disappointing, but ah well...), which led me to some dead links on the main page here where it had been a while back. I considered registering on the forums, but concluded that I was too much of an idiot and that I'd just make a fool of myself. I figured 'where r teh psx romz, lololol?' wouldn't give a good first impression.

So I went away and learned about ISOs, and also about some of the less publicised filesharing clients (I believe I only knew about Kazaa at that time). I came back and registered a bit later, looking for Persona II: Innocent Sin. I was still an idiot, but I had a bit of knowledge and thus was able to disguise my general stupidity with things a little better

I didn't even get that game until about a year after I registered, but it didn't matter. I made so many friends here during my first year. I don't generally fit in on the internet much better than I do in real life, so I was surprised at how easily I seemed to click with the people here. Said people were even tolerant of my continual 'badly needs a shot of testosterone', overly sentimental rants (just like this one).

It helped a lot to have people to have so many people that I could talk to and have fun with during a year that I hardly found pleasant. School puts so much pressure on you to be someone you're not. Not being a strong person in the slightest, I did just that. So I found it quite liberating to come here and be myself again.

I probably spent more of that year here than I did in my outside life. I literally just sat about the Hangout all day speaking with people and watching them come and go. It sounds silly, but it was kind of nice. It's why, even though I feel a little distant from EP nowadays, I still stop by every now and then. This place, and many of the people here, are quite special to me.

I guess I can sum up in: 'came for the games, quit caring about the games, stayed for the friends I had made'.

For me it was plain luck. When I was downloading some roms
form another site I was forced to vote on "top 50 emulation sites"
then I've decided to check out some of those other listed sites
and upon clicking on the links *bang* I've found myself here.

This is the first and only forum i`ve ever joined.
I still prefer real life encounter`s(I`m guessing everyone does.) Though it`s nice to read/write post`s and trade games here.
I`m sorry, I really am not sentimental.
    Raaagghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... hh..

I was looking for SNES roms and (WTF?!?!) PSX roms so I came here. Yes, I'm fully aware that they are not PSX ROMS, but it was 2001, ok? Shit, those topsites STILL call them roms.
