    Question Scariest movie?

What's the scariest movie you've ever seen? By scariest movie you've ever seen now, but when you saw it. Like the movie you saw when you were 5 may have not scared you as much as what you'd watch now. Not neccesarily the most pop-outs, but just scared you the most. I'll give my answer as an example.

I think the scariest movie I ever saw.. was probably Stephen King's It. Man, that movie was so scary. I used to half expect to look out the window and see Pennywise staring at me. I'm still scared of the dark to an extent because of that movie.

I have yet to see a movie scare literally the crap out of me. Until then the scariest would be Amityville Horror only because it was based off a true story

Wow, I come back after a long haul, and come across this post, and to top it, the same movei is my scariest... i saw it while very young as well, but something about the misdirection and manipulative nature of the clown that got me, of course i didnt realize that till later but my guess is it made me scared so much since i would question something that seemed harmless thinking it had evil intent...

I've heard reading the book makes it so much scarier, just because you know the stuff that the movie doesn't tell..

Alien. The first one. Didn't scare me much, but I can appreciate all the subtle things in the movie that might make it very creepy for some other people.

Ringu. Damn that was scary. A lot more better than the US version, I must say.

The Grudge is the least scary movie ever made.

Day of the Dead has to rank as one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. I'd recently turned 13 and it absolutely terrified me, especially the scene where the zombies finally infested the bunker. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep for the next fortnight.

Funny you should mention It, I'm reading the original novel at the moment. If you haven't read it yet then I highly reccomend you do so. Goes into a lot more detail than the film, damn good stuff.

ROLZ!!!! Ringu has already been said, but yeah, I saw It when it first was released (The Jap version) and I found my self looking at every creek to check it wasnt Sadako, plus I didnt trust me TV for a while.

Supposedly the scariest film ever is The exorsist, But I would not watch something like that so I dont know.

Also, Audition was scary, ANYONE SEEN AUDITION ????? About the Crazy Japanese woman, who is very scary

You should watch the Exorcist, a favorite film of mine. Quite disturbing, and made scary by some damn good acting.

Anyway, as a kid Jaws scared the shit out of me. How in God's name that film was ever granted a PG certificate is beyond me.
