    Default Translation patches

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but Im looking for translation patches for PSX. I remeber, back in the day of my PSX emulation spree, reading something about patches for some games, so a Japanese game would have english text. And I was wondering if anyone knows what Im talking about or if I was reading/remebering something wrong. If anyones knows what Im talking about and the files needed that would be greatly apreciated.

IPS/PPF patches can be made for any kind of file so that its content would be altered, so yes, translations are very much possible. But I don't really understand what is it you're looking for. Translations for certain games, or patcher programs themselves?

    In that case:

Don't have more right now, but that's still plenty.

Not many PSX games are translated, but I think there are some.

Here are alot of Psx patches:

    http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml

But most are for bug fixes or Pal/NTSC selectors, etc...
They also have the programs and all that though to let you patch games.

This place has a list and links to almost all game patch groups for translations but a few links may be dead. There are quite a few though so if you can't find something there...good luck finding it anywhere...

    http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Em...lation_Groups/

    Hope that helps.

There's a patch in the works for ToP PSX, by Phantasian Productions (or something like that), but they're stuck because they'd need an assembly hacker. So it's not going to be finished soon, unfortunately.

They found a couple asm hackers but they're new to it, and the project is still moving along just check their message boards. http://www.tales-cless.org/

For one, or maybe 2 PSX games you have to find the translated ISO as there is no actual patch for it--I remember Cotton being one of the games.
I'm sure there's another too, but I can't remember what it was now.

No, Cotton is Hank Hill's father...the old grumpy short guy who lost his knee caps in the war...

Actually I do remember someone long ago on a different site putting up a torrent that had like 4 already translated Psx games in it (Cotton being one) but they were all smaller size action/shooters, so there are some out there but action/shooters would be alot easier to do since they obviously wouldn't have near as much dialogue as an Rpg.
