Yup, the disk works just fine on ePSXe.

I could make a video if people are still interested by this tutorial. Just had this idea when my sister asked to play a backed up game, she has no modchip and no port for GS clone, and i couldn't find any boot cd around.
It would still be on crappy quality, but it would be better than nothing, no?
A poor quality video always has better quality than no video.
Have you seen me before?
That won't be possible until tomorrow, my dad brought the cam somewhere...
ill be in you debt if you make a movie

I got a question. when I do the swap trick with my ff9, why does the game load so slow and crash a few minutes after loading an older save from my memory card? I burned ep's ff9 by the way (with nero) if that helps any.
Ive been trying to figure this out during the past coupla days. any help would be appreciated.
cheers
Nothing beats a game with good music
polobunny i just wanna say thank you so much for the movie it helped in ways no text ever could. wow this worked with my ps1 i used a allen key to hold the button down just taped it right to the ps1 oh and i dont know if anyone else has posted it but if you've got a watch with seconds its 6 seconds from the first chimey sound the psx makes 16-17 seconds for the next swap then 1 second for the black screen swap the time helped me the most got it on my second try.
EDIT: Found the movie.
I still can't perform the second swap (import slows down the second time, swap in the local). Whenever I try it, the laser moves back and forth with a big pause in between, and speeds up the disc a lot, then slows it down, over and over again, but no matter what I do, I can't get the screen to fade out to black. I must have tried this like 30 times already. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I tried swapping on the first import slowdown, not the second, and it goes to the black screen, but I can't get it to load up my import when I switch it back in.
I'm running a 9000 series PSX, has anyone gotten the swap trick to work on one? If so, what import slowdown do you swap the local in at, the first or the second? Thanks in advance.
My sister PSX is an SCPH-9001.
It's just a matter of time, I couldn't get it first too. Don't try too often on the same day, and try various things.
Thanks for the reassurance, polobunny. On the 9001, do you switch out the import the second time it slows down, or the first? As I said before, I can get it to the black screen switching it out on the first slowdown, but it just does a weird thing spinning the disc with the laser if I try switching it out the second slowdown.
The reason I ask is because someone said you do it on the first slowdown on a PSOne, and this is the late model PSX, so maybe they shared this piece of technology.
I don't remember, and my sister PS1 is not currently plugged, but it's that same PS1 in the movie.
I remember in the movie I missed it a bit, I wasn't really sure if it would boot because I was about half a second late.
Yeah, in the vid you waited for the second slowdown before switching. Damn. This is really, really hard. Thanks.
wow i can't believe this thread is alive this thing started almost 2 yrs ago haha oh well...i don't use my swapping trick no more i use a modded psx so yea good thing this thread is still going.
EDIT: i wonder if i can get back my game records lol
