    Default History of Video Games.

Yes, hello everyone. I never thought I'd be able to do this, but through some ingenuity and more than some bullshitting, I will be able to use video games in a constructive way for my work.
So, I need some background history on the video game industries. Preferably from around the SNES era onwards, but I can sift through a fat text if need be. More important, though , is description of console developing house rivalries, and descriptions of such events as the fallout between Sony and Nintendo which created the Playstation, for example.
Anything relevant, even if it is only a little, is a great help. Thanks in advance.

from a <a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=history+of+video+games&btnG=Goo gle+Search">google search</a>, there are some decent looking results. Gamespots page looks quite detailed.
Could you list any sites your already looking at?

There's a fair bit of information about Nintendo and Sony's original relationship here. You can also find out quite a lot about the rest of Nintendo's old-school consoles on that site.

I bet whoever wrote that comment in Nintendo Power is still eating those words.

That's the funniest thing I've ever heard! Talk about having to eat your words. Especially after such a cocky statement.

Nintendo has really made some bonehead decisions after the Snes. N64 carts., No Rpg for the 64, The akward controlers, Mini-disks, now no online for the Revolution? They've just been asking to go out of business for nearly 10 years.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO ONLINE FOR REVOLUTION ???? Does that mean Revolution won't go online ? What about "classic nintendo games being freely downloadable" ??? Do you have any links with regards to that info ???

There was an official statement about those classic games being downloadable so I'm sure the Revo will go online. Infact according to recent statements, the DS will also be able to use it's WiFi to go online shortly =D.

I think the revo can use your internet access if you have a wireless router.

Nintendo has made a big deal about the Revolution being Online Ready out of the box... I don't know why people think the Revolution won't be online.

That's the one thing it has going for it. Specswise, it has a CPU about the same as xbox 360 but doesn't have graphics on par with the other two systems... The free classic games will be nice though... I wonder how long it will be before the built-in emus are hacked to run unauthorized games...

Specs wise... They have released specs now... When... Last Week?

Really Nintendo has not said anything offical(Unless they said it last week)... It could be more powerfull then people assume and have graphics just as good as the X360...

I think it's good they keep it under wraps,

Actually, let me retract that statement. I said no online, but was thinking no HDTV support. This is absolutely insane. Especially bad news for someone who has an HDTV. You can really tell the difference.

It's good that less then .5% of the world has HDTV... and only 10% is expected to have HD support by 2010...

90% of the consumers will not be able to use HD support... as in It's nice and all but not this generation...
