Default Help running an older game on Windows XP!

I'm trying to play an old game called G-Nome, I found it today while looking through my CDs. Anyway, when I try to install it, it gives me this error: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." I assumed I needed MS-DOS, so I installed DOSBOX, but I have no idea, I don't understand what to do at all in it! I don't understand the intro, and I don't understand the intro cdrom. I'm trying to get the game to install first of all, it originally came with a Windows 95 system. Can somebody tell me how to use DOSBOX to install and run this game? I really wanna play it again. Thanks.

I think it wouldn't exactly run well in DOSBOX, as it only emulates a slower system now than what would be neccessary for the game. Try using compatibility settings for the game. Make an icon for the game, then right click on it, Properties > Compatibility. Try setting it to Win95 or Win98SE.
BTW, I think G-Nome was a Win95 game... but I'll check it first.

I already tried compatibility mode in Windows 95, by opening the CD and right clicking SETUP.EXE and setting it for Windows 95... it gives me the same error.

Saa~, this sounds so familiar. It's the same error we had when I tried to install Lords of Magic: Special Edition on a friend's computer...so, I show you this and this. Tell me if it works, please, since I haven't gotten a chance to actually bring it there to try it (they...neglected to pay their ISP bill). Thank you in advance.

Download the XP Fix. When finish, open it, and in a second, you're done. Should fix the problem.

Woah, so that's it! I had that trojan on my computer a few days ago, AVG detected it and fixed it though. So thats why it won't work. I tried the first link and now it installs! Thanks a lot!
