thanks man! My bro'll be happy now!![]()
The way these sounds none of these really work very well with games.... is this true? (i'm getting this for my brother and probably some games... mostly final fantasy i would assume for psx)
you may want to try the emulators first and see if any of them work good enough before you get some more games.
well i haven't gotten any games and i don't have a mac with me to test them... but i assume he will onl yplay final fantasy games that's about it... and i cannot test'em without downloading them and giving them to him and then he would have to find out so that's why i was wondering.
see if you can find a compatability list for the emulators and see if the games work on them
Thanks that's a great idea!
i found a compatability list for FlareStorm :
http://mac-psx.hansr.net/fs-listframe.html
according to the list all the 3d NSTC Final Fantasys will work fine with minor problems ( an FFT)

wopah i found the same looking website except mine said that everything didn't work LOL
alright it looks like the games he'll play work fine for flarestorm so i'll get him that one (he's emulation iliterate :-p and he has a mac so i have to get him the stuff)
Hint:
Since Mac OS X is based off of Unix if you somehow get a hold of a good emulators source code you could compile it for OSX. Should work like it would in linux.
I'm using windows winged 2.0 ... i know my screenname makes you wonder :-p i use to do linux but .... gamers end up back with windowsi want to try linux but idk what to do with it. LOL
Yeah. I have tried linux time and time again but have always returned to windows. Basically I try it as an escape from Windows. The problem I find with it is its package management and dependency thing. Ugh. But I have used linux and Mac about the same ammount to find that they are very similar. Mac OS X is just linux with a Mac environment basically. They say ePSXe's source code has never been released but I am googling it now to see if it has been
EDIT: I see theres the linux version on epsxe.com. I would try that on the Mac.

Yea i could try that linux version of mac....but this mac compatibility list this last guy showed me for flarestorm seems to have the games my brohter would be interested in so we'll leave it at that and if push comes to shove (i download everything give it to him and it doesnt work and it's not just becuase he's computer illiterate (ahem emulation illiterate i mean) then we'll try that)
I wouldnt' mind a mac or linux and learn around but i'm just a gamer... gamers need windows.
