Default PAL to NTSC (PS2 games....) HELP!!!

    Hi guys,

I need help. One of my friends downloaded Cricket 2005 (one of the latest EA cricket games). His PS2 is modded with a DMS4 (at least whats what he says it is), which should be able to play PAL region games. Also, he doesn't have a MultiRegion TV. Its only NTSC. The problem is the game loads up but the picture is black & white and it keeps rolling vertically, which makes me think its not being converted from PAL to NTSC.

He has tried patching it with a PAL to NTSC patcher before burning, but after patching the game didnt load after the Playstation 2 sign came up. The patches that he used were named "adrpatch" and other one is "pal2ntsc with yfix" They don't work. He has already wasted 3 DVDr's on em

Do you guys know what might be wrong ???

Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx in Advance.

Edit: The source of that game (I mean the torrent site) is TRUSTWORTHY and we asked around other people who finished downloading. They said they didn't have any problems with the game, and that it worked AWESOME....

After unraring the RAR files, what we get is a .iso file.

Doesn't anybody really know how to convert the REGION???? I thought this kinda stuff was child's play and am just asking for it over here coz we are noobs at this thing, and we really don't know whether we are using the right tools and doing it properly or not.

    HELP!!!

I have no idea if this works, but I found these 2 posts on another forum:
Hey, I have Cricket 2005 game from Europe, but I have patched it to PAL to NTSC Patcher with Y-Fix, but when the PlayStation 2 logo comes after that it is black screen, can anybody help me on that please thanks in advance.

    REPLY:
Lahori420 - i ran into the same problem, but i got it to work sad part is theres no Y-Fix on it...so the screen is shifted to the bottom heres how anyway..., just open the already patched iso in PAL2NTSC and checkmark "make pn selector" at bottom then patch file and then transfer to hdd/burn w.e, load it up on ps2 and press circle at the green selection screen for NTSC (not the one with Y-fix beside it)

now the only erfin thing is to move the screen up! i gave up on the damn game cuz i cant bat for shit and ball either! there ar guages/meter at bottom you cant see damnit!

PS: anyone help with the repositioning of screen?

Hey man, if you have the Toxic bios, you have to press either...Circle or Triangle when you turn the system on to go into Toxic Bios menu, and there should be an option to force PAL. While it's far from perfect, it's probably the best you're going to get without complicated patching.

Sorry, but I can't offer help beyond that. I don't download PAL games.

Did you actually mean "force NTSC"?

Because his friend is trying to get the game to play on an NTSC-only TV, not a PAL one.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks for clarifying it. I wouldn't want Ravihpa's friend to have been confused for two seconds.

Thank you for all the awesome replies. We tried everything (except the Toxic Bios which I need to look into further) but still it didn't work.

SegNin, thank you for doing that research for me. I really appreciate it. We both are keeping an eye on those forums just in case somebody comes up wtih a better fix.

Valholy, thank you for the patch. We tried it. but it just fixes the color in the video. The video still rolls vertically.

That friend of mine has posted the same thing on some other forums of his and we are gonna wait and watch as to what happens next. May be, they'll release a patch for that particular game itself.

Anyways, thank you SO MUCH FOR REPLYING and 100 points donated to each and everyone of you
