This game proves graphics prove nothing.
They should not remake this game, they either would FUCK it up extremely bad, seeing how They fucked up 10-2 nicely. Or make it really well and then all the reall ff7 fans would be overwhelmed by idiots that only care about graphics.

Just a thought.
Shame on you. X-2 was a sequel not a remake and it was still a good game IMO

FF7 is, hand down, the greatest rpg ever yet there are still people to this very day that say didnt like it. There are always gonna be people who love a game and who hate it. Same goes for remakes. Remaking FF7 will not hurt it's legacy but more than likely make it greater.

Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997. That's almost a decade ago. Most of the pople who played it then are in there 20's and maybe 30's. There is a new generation of gamers out there who haven't had a chance to experience FFVII. There should be a remake to bring newer gamers a touch of a classic.

And people who say graphics mean nothing need to stop bullshiting themselves. At the time, FFVII was a graphical breakthrough. It was one of the first 3D rpgs. If Final fantasy 7 had the same storyline same gamplay but with stick figures, do you really think it would be as great as it is. I think not. Graphics are needed to submerge a player into the game. They make a player feel like they are really there fighting evil or whatever.

Remaking FF7 isnt about all about graphics though. Since it will be on the PS3 , this will give them a chance to add voice acting to the game, something that Square themelves said they wished they could've done when FF7 first came out. Also with the capabilities of the ps3, there's room to add additional gameplay modes, like an online multiplayer mini quest or something.

The fact of the matter is Square-enix is a business. If they remake FF7, it will sell out and they will make money. That 's why Dawn of Souls sold so well even though it was only a gba port. And I don't care how many people tell themselves that they don't want a remake because as soon as it comes out, they will be buying it simple as that. Plus, it's what gamers want. They wouldn't be doing this whole FF7 compilation thing in the first place if people didnt want more FF7.

All in all, a ps3 remake will be alright in my eyes and TRUE FF7 fans (not these obsessed fanboys) will embrace it like they embrcaed the original.
