'If god is all powerful why allow suffering?' as already stated is utter bull, if I were to run a realistic computer simulation of many lifeforms I'd make thenm at a basic level and let the simulation play out without going into the thing and alterring memory states to try and make my simulated beings 'good'.
What the hell would be the point in such a simulation if you are instructing your lifeforms on how to work, would it be more interesting to watch such things happening if there was not some contrast in behaviour of individual 'beings'?

good and bad (or evil, if you must use that stupid word) are totally subjective. In some video games the bad character/unit would be the one that can't efficiently kill opposing units and a good one would be one which kills/destrys a lot of your foes.
But in real life many (not even sure if you could say most for this) people have morals which say to the contrary that things such as killing other people is not something you should do.

So to sum up, if I was a creator in whatever little sense then I'd watch things play through as they would with free will or else there is no meaning.

God must be having one hell of a damned time with us.

why wouldn't people believe in God? What is there to hide from or why are people so quick to try to put him down and think of him as some myth or dillusion?

one more thing, us human-beings and animals and life in general is all a test. It's up to us to make it better and carry out things. For those who put God down and say why allow suffering or whatever, he doesn't. He didn't put people in that situation. All the factors from hundreds of years and come into place and if you THINK about it, then you would probably know that the lifestyles we see have forced others to live the way they do. Some people just don't care though. Just believe and have faith, God bless everyone and help us all before it's too late

I believe there was no actual deity but many great leaders that were people thought were gods, saints etc...

Heracy! Our god will not die. And if he leaves his physical form he will continue to be uh.. godly and exist around all us faithful believers. Have a little belief man.
