Default The Best of the Best of Emulation Games

What are the best emulators and roms?
The best N64, Playstation, GBA, SNES, Dreamcast emulation and games?
    Any suggestions?

Im new to this stuff is there any way to download Nintendo DS or PSP but i hardly doubt it huh? Will it be possible in the future PC's?

the best N64 is ProJect 64 (PJ64) and the best for PSX is ePSXe...
N64 emulation is really hit or miss, with only about half of the N64's libary being playable... (Playable does not mean thay run perfectly either)

PSX emulation is much better, It's rare to find games that dont' work well.

SNES... ether SNEX9 or ZSNES... it's whatever you like better, they are both very good.

Dreamcast is Chankast, Im not totaly sure what it's capable, of...

VisualBoyAdvance is the best for GBA, it's very good BTW, and can play most every game.

You can download DS games, (Im not sure about PSP ) but there is no emulator to play those games yet... (DS&PSP) Though Im sure there will be in the future... how far in to the future... who knows?

there are emulators available for DS games, but I think only 007 Rogue Agent is somewhat playable. There is nothing for PSP game emulation yet and it's very unlikely you will see anything really done with PSP emulation for quite awhile due to the UMD disc format. Someone will figure a way to copy the game sooner or later, but most of the PSP community now is focusing on hacking the PSP for homebrew and emulation of other consoles on the PSP. You got to remember both handhelds are very new and use new types of technology that are harder to emulate than previous handhelds so you can't really expect much so soon.

Ensata is the most advanced DS emulator, but you won't get a correct speed to be able to play the game.

    Hi, Rodneyish.

I like the same emulators GundamGuy likes.

As for the ROMs, as a 2D game beholder, I present you the incomplete lists of my favorite games on some of the systems you mentioned. (Underlined titles are my systems favorites ):

    Sega Dreamcast:

    • Jojos Bizarre Adventure
    • Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper
    • Street Fighter III: Double Impact
    • Street Fighter III: Third Strike Fight for the Future
    • Marvel vs Capcom 2

    Sony Playstation:
    • Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
    • Capcom vs SNK
    • Adventures of Lomax in Lemming Land
    • Mega Man 8
    • Mega Man X3
    • Mega Man X4
    • Mega Man X5
    • Mega Man X6
    • Zanac X Zanac

    Super Nintendo Entertainment System:
    • Castlevania Dracula X
    • Disney's Aladdin
    • Earthworm Jim
    • Earthworm Jim 2
    • Lion King
    • Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow
    • Mega Man 7
    • Mega Man X
    • Mega Man X2
    • Mega Man X3
    • Ninja Warriors Again

    Nintendo Game Boy Advance:

    • Contra Advance
    • Kingdom Hearts

I'll disagree with that, it's definately more than half that are playable - and perfectly playable at that.

    There are very few games that do not run at all;

    Indiana Jones
Star Wars RS (works partially in Nemu)+ Naboo
    Mario no photopie
Dark Rift (no characters hence pointless to play)
    World Driver Championship
and a a lot of dodgy japanese games

The question is little unclear, it could be that you're asking for the best emulator for certain systems, or simply the games that are worth playing even with an emulator. In the latter case, it would be helpful to know what kind of games you like. audiohominis basically listed all the action games that are worth a look. I'm not a great fan of them, but Ninja Warriors Again is definitely a work of art. BTW, the consoles that are older than the PSX are emulated near perfectly, I'd say.

As for the emulators, GundamGuy listed all the emus I use too... I think most games for PSX, GBA and SNES run very well on those emus, but as it was said before, N64 emulation is...umm... half complete. Fortuneately, the 'Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' and 'Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask' games are perfectly emulated on Project64.

I agree with that. I have the N64 Full Rom Set, and out of all of them, like 20 don't boot or just dont work.

it's much better since the new version of project 64 came out a few months ago. Games that used the expansion pack like Donkey Kong 64 are now actually playable and many other unplayable or glitchy games are now working.

There are PSP roms (or are they considered ISO's) that have been dumped, but you have to somehow load them onto your PSP--and I don't know how to do that.
But the roms/iso's themselves are rather large: between 200-700 MB, rared.
Basically the same size as PSX ISO's.

If you want the roms/isos, try looking on torrents sites, Emule, DC hubs, IRC,and Newsgroups.

heh I have no reason to download I already own most of the good games available for the system. I went pretty crazy when the PSP came out and I bought almost all of the launch games that were worth buying (I currently have 9 or 10 games). I'm surprised they're so small considering a UMD can hold 1.8gb.

    Games i like umm..?

    Adventure games:
    MDK 1 & 2
    MGS series
    Splinter Cell
    Mario Series
    Zelda Series

    Rpg Games
    FF7 is the best.
    Legaia 1 & 2
    Chrono Cross & Chrono Trigger
    FFX

    Fighting Games
    Street Fighter Series
    Soul Caliber 2
    MVC series

    Shooting Games
    Ikaruga
    007 Series
    Counter Strike

    Racing Games
Anything to do with import cars or really awesome concept cars
im asian what can i say?

Games i dont like that are too strategic or too repetetive.
    All Kessen games i hate
Dynasty Warriors was fun but hurt made my fingers sore
Games that are just too easy.

I like games that are a bit challeging but can finish a game.

Damn 1.8g thats a lot. Is that the reason why the graphics are so good?
