It totally missed the point, and so I didn't even need to address it. And yet I did.

People use that alot though. "It's only the internet", as if that somehow cheapens the effect of what one says, or makes it irrelevant. Face to face or behind a computer monitor, It's all the same to me. That I don't have direct contact with a person doesn't effect the gravity of any given discussion, so I'll argue something with the same tenacity on the net as I would if the discussion were to have taken place face to face.
End the end, I don't let any of these petty debates get to me. The only thing that really bothers me, is that I keep getting swept back up by them, despite whether or not there is any point in it.

When "I say it's only internet" it's not really to cheapen the effect, but mostly to make you remember that even if you're about to kill the user at the other hand, you won't be able to.
So you better stop arguing and chill a bit because the only thing you're doing is breaking your fingers on the keyboard for something that isn't even physical and that probably won't change your life in any way.
That's usually what I think when internet discussions/debates start to take much more size then what they were intended to.
