Had one such dream last night. Skinner took over buckingham palace and made it into the worlds largest chat/spam server.

Ah, an old, but fun joke. I liked Bunny's take, though the original contest had some other gems.

This in itself might be fun to watch but there is a serious point to be made here... What if giant arrangements of buttered toast cats were linked (probably by their tails) to banks of generators? Perhaps enough electricity could be produced to help resolve the growing world energy crisis.
    eh, how?

Ah, here it is. A spinning coil (spun by the turbine, in this instance) in a magnetic field will generate an induced electric current, that varies in strength as a sine wave would. By inverting the magnetic field just as the induced field reaches its peak, you basically create an alternating current output. Then, you can connect that coil to a circuit and use the output for things like lightbulbs, computers, or that sort of stuff. It's one of the most basic generator systems, so I doubt it's what's used in the modern day, but it does provide an example of how you would do it.
