I am going offline all summer (hence the rush 2 download every rom and ISO in sight) but when I get back, I promise I WILL at least look into getting a third party browser.

But the only way to find out which is the best is to actually try them. You can read all the literature and documentation that's out there if you want, but in the end the only way to know for sure is to experience it and see for yourself.

You are aware that you can have more than one browser installed on your computer, right? I have both IE and FireFox with FireFox as my default.

If you really think that there's a substantial difference in quality between IE and "alternative" browsers then someone should email Bill Gates and let him know that his super-secret subliminal-strobophobic-hypnotic indoctrination & conditioning program is working perfectly.

Actually, in all seriousness, there is a difference in quality.

The alternative browsers are better.

On the contrary, Nerd, sites are written for html, php, and so on. All the browsers do is interperate that code into a form you can understand.

I've used Firefox since it first came out with version 0.8

IE sucks because of all it's security holes. Firefox rules for it's pop-up blocking and extensions which can greatly enhance your browsing.

The sites that insist that you use IE "for best results" tend to be the same sites that "innocently" install applications on your computer, that according to them, are "useful" if not "essential"--stuff that your computer "really really really needs"

Nerd42, you seem like a bright guy. Dump IE and try FireFox, Opera or maybe Avant. Or anything else that's better than IE.
Which is to say anything else but IE.

Also, You guys failed to mention how much faster Mozilla fire fox loads pages than IE, And all the tweaks/ skins you can have for it. Also Tabbed browsing is very nice for conserving space on your task bar. .

Are you listening to what I'm saying? That's because it's a great site! I'm not "accusing" it, I don't want to "accuse" it! I think it's under attack!

I was not talking about you but the other people who come here just to blame us for installing viruses to their computers. And some other sites also warn not to go here because their systems will be infected.

And Internet Explorer sucks and it always will. Even the upcoming IE7 will suck. Microsoft itself said it won't support the web-standards. What is the point?! And pages that don't work but with IE are those whose makers did not take the effort to make them follow standards but put all kinds of stuff there that only works on a specified browser. They just haven't yet learned the very idea of HTML...

what do you think (about or can be done about) emulation viruises though?

I once got my whole computer fried by a program called "BIONES.exe" It was supposed to be an NES emulator. Now I have Nester and it works better.

aren't there better emulators than "nesticle" (its so gross!) to tell me which tile is at which address? (which is all i use nesticle for)

This site just isnt for FireFox users. For 11/2 I used IE, then I switched over to firefox when I stumbled upon it. Oh, and when I was using IE, there was no AT-Games at the front page. It was all clean and stuff.
