Default Can you make your own ringtones?

I'd like to know if there was anyway you could make your own tune like maybe from a midi or wav file and if possible any good methods to create your own midi's or wav tunes or manipulate and cut possibly mp3's into ringtone compatable files, sorry if that sounded n00bish but I had no idea how to phrase it better

There are some models of cell phones that play mp3s as ringtones (don't look at me for specifics). The problem is getting said mp3s onto a phone. The phone companies will have a crappy selection of songs that they can send to your phone for a couple $$ a piece. Or you can load them up yourself, but the phone companies don't like that so they change $50-100 for a dinky PC connection cable.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Well, while you're waiting for an answer that's more effective then mine, why not check out this site?

I'm not too sure how it works, but my roomate has used it to get tons of custom ring-tones onto his phone, so poke around and see if that helps any.

EDIT: There's a one-time fee of eight bucks involved, but after you've payed that, everything is smooth-sailing. I suppose the worth of that link will be dependant on wether or not that fee is something you'll wanna deal with.

But yes if you have a Nokia most models let you make your owe with a touch pad if the phone hooks up to the comp with USB then great use Nero and cut down the MP3's you want i have found most come (From websites and ringtone company's) at 96kps.

And to tell this: you can't really convert wav's or mp3's to midi files. There are some programs that are said to be able to do that, but the results are... not so good.
    Have you seen me before?

My phone can use garden variety MIDIs as ringtones. It even came with a CD that has tools to optimize MIDIs for the phone's crappy playback system.
