Look guys, while I'm not bothered by it when I get bad rep, keep in mind that we staff members can see who's responsible for those colorful comments you leave us, so you may wanna think twice before saying something idiotic.

Also, that the rest of the population of EP can't tell it was you who sent them the oh so witty suggestion that they kill themself, doesn't mean that you should send it. Let's try and keep the comments you leave along with the rep reasonably....reasonable.
If you have a problem with someone and you feel that it's worth saying something like that over it, then please consider taking your issues up with that person directly, rather then being a coward and hiding behind the rep system, alright?

i ma in total agreement with cyberxion. i get rep from ppl whom i don't know; for absolutely no reason; that say fuck you. the system needs to be changed to where you can see the name of the person who gives you the rep, that way you can thank them or flame them back. (through pms of course, not useless posts )

No doubt. I think we either need to do that, or go back to the old rep system, where comments didn't factor into it. Sure, you'd still get bad rep from people for no reason if we were to go with the latter, but at least you wouldn't have to deal with the piss-ant comments people make while hiding behind the current systems anonymity.

Wait a minute... hate to disrupt the vibe thread, but over in Comp Tech, I think GJ was saying you can't port a HDD from one setup to the next without reformatting, and yet it sounds like you just did it. So what is it?

Nega Vibe: Still one and a half weeks until the biggest computer convention I've heard of.

You can ->simply<- rebuild the hardware abstraction layer (commonly called HAL, but when i write it full people think i know something about computers so heh) and it will work. That's what i learned.

Let's say that if i was moving my HDD from a P4 2.8Ghz (Socket 478, newer) to a P4 1.5Ghz (Socket 423, older), it would work on the first try. But since i'm going the other way...That's a bit harder.
But that wasn't the real problem, I found that the Ethernet controller wasn't fully supported in the comps at school (brand dell with mid-supported ethernet controllers, find the error?!?) and that was causing Windows XP crash at boot. Fixed that and it "worked". I had to do a few tweaks with the help of my fav hardware specialist teacher, and now it works like a charm.

I'm using a modified windows xp build (some custom geek shizzle) and it's so much better than windows xp pro, you're trully getting the power out of the monster.

But anyway, neg vibe:
Still didn't make my CV, that was supposed to be done for today.
I learned that i have to redo my M$ Access exam cuz it was too sucky
The school biggest boss (dunno his position really) called me at his office because i'm missing to much classes
And last but not least, I learned I might wear glasses. :\ Nothing strong, my eyes are fine but i'm missing focus from time to time and that gives me headaches.

Edit: Gotta agree with you guys for the rep system. I had almost no bad reps but some were just plain weird. Bad rep, no msg...
When i rep someone i always write a msg then make a "- polobunny" at the end. At least the person knows why and who gave him bad/good rep.
But as suggested, it would be great to see the name of those who rep.

Can't there be some sort of a system whereby the recepient of the rep knows who is giving them the rep. But then I guess, some level of anynomity is acceptable until, like Cyber said, it is not misused, and I surmise that's exactly what happened.
I don't know why one would want to be harsh through a rep-giving system, its silly and cowardice.

Anyway, my nega--have a headache, got some studying done, but I have gotten into such a terrible habit of leaving everything until the end. Its so fucking hot. It's jumped from 34-40 degrees in 24 hours.

Bad rep without a message? I've received a few of these, and it leaves me hanging! Atleast give a reason why you don't like the post, unless you have writers block or some other malfunction that disallows you from saying anything hilariously random on the rep system.
I support the idea of seeing the names of those who've givin rep- Things might get amusing that way.


Anyway, negative vibe! ...negative vibe.
I woke up this morning and there was NO COFFEE. I was horrorfied! No one, except for me, was awake.. hence the lack of coffee.
I groaned and decided I'd make my own coffee, but once I removed the soiled coffee filter, some those slimy wet grains fell onto the mat thing infront of the sink. But there wasn't just a few grains on the floor.. no, there were chunks! chunks of coffee grind on the floor! Do you know how hard that is to remove from a non-tiled flooring? It's disgustingly hard, and your efforts result in a much more wide spread mess.
It was icky.

I did manage to get coffee in the end, though.
