I saw this on this mornings news. I'm not suprised. The kid was being made fun of, he wore black, his dad died (they most likely made fun of him for that, he's a Native american, wearing black, 1000$ says other kids were joking that he was atempting to contact his dead father,). If you ask me, he should have told the freakin staff. But one of them got shot as well, which leads me to believe the staff did nothing but slap the wrists of his harrassers.
Strange, the school had a guard, obviously he didn't carry a gun. To prevent this, all you have to do is make kids know violence is not the answer, if you banned guns he'd have brought a knife to school, or maybe hit them with a truck (its happened) and we'd still have some dead people.
Metal detectors, resgistering firearms, enforcing laws that say guns have to be locked up in safes (mine are in one), or just plain enforcing law would help.
